Delete your account.

You can permanently delete your KAIZEN account and the data tied to it at any time — from inside the app, or by emailing us. This page explains exactly how, what gets deleted, and how long it takes. No account or login is required to read it.

Delete from inside the app

This is the fastest way and the one we recommend:

1. Open KAIZEN and go to the Settings tab (your profile).
2. Tap Privacy (the "Privacy & data" screen).
3. Under Your data, tap Delete account.
4. Confirm the two prompts. You'll be signed out once deletion is scheduled.

What happens, and when

Deletion is scheduled immediately and then completed on a fixed timeline — it is not reversible once the purge runs.

• Right away. Your account is marked for deletion and you're signed out on every device.
• 30-day grace window. For up to 30 days, signing back in with the same email or Apple/Google account cancels the deletion and restores your account exactly as it was. This is the only way to undo it — there is no separate "restore" button.
• Permanent purge. If you don't sign back in, your data is permanently erased within 30 days, including at the third-party providers that hold parts of it.
• Voice model. If you enabled voice cloning, deletion of your private voice model and voice recordings is triggered at our voice provider (Cartesia or ElevenLabs, whichever holds your model) and confirmed within about 24 hours.

Delete some data without deleting the account

You don't have to delete your whole account to delete specific data:

• Your voice. Turn the voice toggle off in Settings. We stop using your voice model immediately and trigger its deletion at the voice provider, confirmed within about 24 hours. Your account, journal, and everything else stay intact.
• Journal entries and posts. You can delete individual journal entries and community posts inside the app at any time.
• Anything else. Email privacy@getkaizen.app from your account email and tell us what you'd like removed.

What gets deleted

• Your account and profile (email, handle, year of birth, settings).
• Your onboarding story, goals, blockers, and needs (your dossier).
• Every journal entry — text and voice.
• Your voice recordings and your private voice model at our voice provider.
• Your community posts and 1:1 direct messages.
• Your subscription record on our side (entitlement and receipt state).
• Generated content tied to you — affirmations, stories, and future-self messages.

What may remain

• Anonymised, aggregate data that no longer identifies you — for example, coarse product metrics and de-identified success-story moments that were stripped of identifying details. This is not linked back to you and cannot be used to re-identify you.
• Crash diagnostics that were never linked to your identity (scrubbed of personal data), which age out on their own retention cycle.
• Records we're legally required to keep for a limited time — e.g. tax, billing, or fraud-prevention records — and short-lived backups that expire on our normal rotation.
• Your subscription itself lives with the Apple App Store or Google Play, not with us. Deleting your KAIZEN account does not cancel an active subscription — cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account settings to stop future charges.

Prefer to export first?

Before deleting, you can download a copy of everything. In the app: Settings → Privacy → Export my data emails you a link to a JSON of your dossier and a zip of your audio.

Can't get into the app? Email us.

If you've lost access to the app or your device, email us from the email address on your KAIZEN account and we'll delete it for you:

support@getkaizen.app — subject line "Delete my account."

Please send it from your account email so we can verify the request; we may ask one or two questions to confirm it's you before we proceed. We action verified requests within 30 days and follow the same deletion described above.
